Survival

Don't remember much for the past few days after today..

Today, was survival. It was held at Punggol jetty area (the forest beside it). Met up at 8.15 then made our way there. Soon after, we were in the forested area beside it. Walking for a while, we finally found a place to settle down and start our "camp site". It was a traumatizing 7 hours, highly dehydrated despite having drunk about 2 litres of water. Starting out, I was tasked to collect fire wood. It was amusing at times, for example we found something that seems like it was once a tree. Later, I was required to do water catchment, which I screwed up unfortunately. Using guidance from other groups, barely did up a catchment. Later, I was supposed to man the fire and cook food which was a task I can't handle due to my extreme noobness. Required help for maintaining the fire as I didn't really liked to feeling of ember or ash or whatever the white stuff flying all over possibly onto the face. The chicken somehow had its skin tore, possibly cooked too well. Tasted okok. Potatoes were black, corn, half black half yellow. Interesting. Adding on, the rice actually looked cooked for a moment, with it being fat and white, though it dried up later and looked uncooked by then.

Overall, we were required to build a shelter, a trap, a water catchment, cook food for 3 ppl and a "toilet". Amazingly my group members tanked the others while I was basking in the hot sun. Unfortunately, all I was tasked to do was more or less in the sun, making me end up with a sun burn or the like. At around 5, we finally ended the activity. My group passed shelter and food, which was better considering 1 other group had the same results, the other 2 didn't pass shelter. Later, threw away rubbish and bought a drink, where many conveniently washed their hands in the ice water. Then bus 82 came and we travelled to Punggol. Went to Compasspoint at Seng Kang 1 stop away, for dinner. Then came home, where I don't feel cold even with the fan AND aircon on.

And I remembered wad happened yesterday! Was given a half day for the achievements in cca, yet still had cca haiz =(. Half day was more or less wasted.. To rub salt to the wound, after going there, they soon announced it was optional.. Ended up leaving at 3+ and slacked in sch till 5+. Then came back home seeing an emb msg saying:

"Please note that it is up to the discretion of your CCA teachers to
decide if your CCA would proceed today, perhaps due to preparation
for upcoming competitions or arrangement with the
coaches/instructors.

However, if your CCA were to proceed today, you would be compensated
after your competitions, in which your teachers would identify a CCA day
for you to rest."

This set me thinking, my cca doesn't have competition, which means we have no compensation!! Noo. T.T oh well what can I do.

k that's all for now.
Good bye loyal readers.

Project's day

Today came by and went just like that.

Yesterday my laptop was upgraded to Windows Vista which I am quite happy about, though I ended up spending the whole night using the comp and unfortunately completing no work at all.

Today was project's day, and one thing was my group was allocated the last group of the last slot. How perfect. First half before recess was spent stoning and listening to presentation in LT @ SRC, which the second half was spent in the library. After a game of DoTA, I came to a final conclusion that indeed, DoTA is a stressful game, looking at how people are so engrossed, and shout at each other to "Back! Back! Back!" or "(Ulti)! (Ulti)! (Ulti)!". Then went for presentations which was quite screwed as we didnt present quite some bit of information. Next went to support Class debates, which apparently hardly anyone went at all. Went in to find 2 other classmates there, 1 for the opposing team and other than judges, teachers and cameraman, there were no further audience. My class won in the end, with the ultimate aid of a "physical sweeper" which "1 hit KO" in the pokemon sense. Some of the people unfortunately did not meet our expectations though someone whom people regarded a fool actually did well in debates.

The past weekend was spent chionging CHAOS 09. It all was because I had done research on one of the questions and someone leaving the team, leading to me recruiting a new guy, and pestering the rest to chiong their part as well. On Monday night at about 11:30 pm, I finally experienced the joy of completion, and with a wide smile sent an email to j loh. Also much thanks to him were we able to extend a day.

2:17 AM really isn't a time I should be blogging.
